HOME STATION | A REMARKABLE 15-YEAR JOURNEY FUELED BY DEDICATION AND GROWTH

Let’s meet Ms. Doan Nguyen – Sales Admin Manager, to explore her 15-year journey of dedication and growth at Home.

💬 Hi Doan, can you introduce yourself?

⭐ Hi Huong, I’m Doan, currently working as Sales Admin Manager, managing Sales Admin Team to support Sales Network. I’ve been Home for 15 years.

💬 Wow! Such an amazing journey! Back in 2008, why did you choose Home?

⭐ This was an unexpected opportunity. When I was still working at my previous company, after taking maternity leave, I contacted a colleague to catch up, but suddenly he moved to work in another company. During the exchange, he introduced me to the position of “Assistant to Sales Manager”.

After considering, I felt I could take the position. Firstly, this was a new company entering the Vietnamese market and was a completely new field. At that time, the habit of consumer lending in Western European countries, America, etc. was very popular, but in Vietnam it was still quite new. I realized the potential and a lot of development opportunities in this field. Secondly, this is also a multinational company and I could fully meet both foreign languages and expertise in finance and business.

Although after giving birth, people often refrain from changing jobs, but I’m inherently willing to transform and accept new challenges.

💬 Up to now, that change is still worth it, right?

⭐ For me, it’s a completely wise decision.

💬 As one of the first members joining Home from the early days, you must have witnessed many transformations of Home. What are your thoughts on those transformations?

⭐ For 15 years, Home has been constantly transforming. In terms of growth rate, Home was just a small group from the beginning. Sales Network at that time consisted of only 15 Sales Assistants (SA) and 2 or 3 Sales Supervisors, which is the current District Sales Manager. We had only one product - Two-wheel and about 15 stores, but in a very short time, we had expanded the scale throughout 63 provinces and cities with 08 representative offices. Up to now, we have 5, 6 products with many different distribution channels.

Initially, SA had to make a paper contract and the customer signed it directly on the contract; even, SA had to move to the office to submit documents. After that, a support team was established to assist SA in collecting documents and transferring them back to the office to carry out the due diligence process. However, there were still many limitations because if there were any mistakes, customers would need to return to the store to re-sign the contract. In 2013, Home developed an application called "Homer", although SA could fill in the information on the system, customers still had to sign a paper contract. After that, Home continues to improve so that customers can sign contracts on the system/app. And up to now, customers have completely actively manipulated from A to Z on the “HomeX” application to complete the procedure.

💬 So what helps you be at Home for so long?

⭐ Firstly, I feel very lucky because during being with Home, I have met many line managers who always trust, support, and empower me to complete the job well. I can approach them to share and get valuable advice at any time in difficulty.

Secondly, I find my own values associated with the company's core values. They are Integrity, Fairness, and Innovation.

Thirdly, Home's working environment is very dynamic with a culture of diversity, equality, and inclusion. No matter who you are, wherever you come from, when you join Home, we are one.

Furthermore, Home also demonstrates a commitment to responsibility towards the environment, community, and society. Through the commitments of the shareholders, I realize the seriousness of continuing to invest and develop in Vietnam for a long time.

In addition, I also received a well-deserved award. I can participate in training courses, meetings and team building both domestically and internationally with my wonderful colleagues.

💬 What helps you always find joy and constantly innovate at work; At the same time, inspire that for your team?

⭐ Actually, I’m not too clear about the job requirements of the Sales Admin position at other companies in the market. Particularly in my previous companies, this job is quite simple. You only need to operate the system with the available instructions and other administrative tasks. But at Home, it's completely different.

The Sales Admin team needs to have an understanding of the business, the Sales Network, and the stakeholders. It is necessary to grasp how the system works, understand the accounting and financial processes, and have basic legal knowledge. Thanks to that, we can better support the Sales Network team and stakeholders. Sales Admin team is the " bridge" between stakeholders and Sales Network in projects, so it is necessary to understand to communicate effectively.

I’m also fortunate to participate in important projects of the company. I have learned a lot and am aware that I need to constantly improve to develop and adapt to all changes. Once I have acquired those knowledge and skills, I will continue to pass them on to my team, helping them understand what they need to equip to complete their job well; then change their mindset about this job.

💬 You mention Sales Network a lot. Sales Network is known as a huge force and is one of the teams that play an important role in the success of Home. That also means that the workload of Sales Admin will be very large. What is your secret to motivate your team?

⭐ Firstly, on my own side, I will need to manage myself, manage my work and my team well. Always be a role model for employees to follow. Always keep the focus at work and be calm when handling all problems. I have to improve every day to support the Sales Network team in the best way.

To work well with the Sales Network team, it is necessary to be dedicated and supportive all the way, no matter how small or big the problem. It is necessary to understand the difficulties of the Sales Network team and put yourself in their shoes so that each piece of information should be clear and easy to understand. At the same time, it is necessary to stay updated on the strategic and goal priorities for the Sales Network from time to time to coordinate the activities of the Sales Admin appropriately and effectively support the Sales Network.

Secondly, when working with stakeholders, we need to selectively and verifiably provide information and data from the market to quickly find a suitable solution, avoiding wasting the time of the parties.

When working with my team, I will always support them in all situations, and encourage them to learn, improve, constantly explore and innovate in their work. I always maintain regular 1:1 meetings with team leaders to promptly update the work situation as well as the thoughts and aspirations of the members. Every month, I organize a meeting to honor the members with good achievements in the month as well as to congratulate the members on their birthdays. I also encourage them to share the knowledge, skills, and experiences that belong to their strengths to both improve cohesion and promote a culture of learning and sharing in the team.

💬 Looking back on your journey at Home, how do you feel when you receive the Long-term Service – 15 years Award?

⭐ I don't think 15 years have passed. I still have a lot of energy and motivation to do more things at Home.

One word that I want to share is “Grateful”. I’m grateful to the Leadership Team for always leading Home Credit in the right direction. I’m grateful to my line managers for 15 years, for always trusting, supporting, and encouraging me to fulfill my responsibilities well. At the same time, I’m grateful to my colleagues at Home, although in the process of working, there are conflicting views, we all focus on solving to reach the same goal. And especially, I’m grateful to my team members for always loving, sharing, and accompanying me.

💬 On the occasion of the 15th anniversary, please send your best wishes to Home and colleagues at Home!

⭐ I wish the company a sustainable and long-term development in Vietnam, always being an ideal workplace with a diverse, equal, and inclusive culture - where all members are always proud to belong.

To all colleagues at Home: Always keep your enthusiasm, constantly improve, learn, and innovate to grow with Home. You will never regret spending your youth at Home!
