Explore the journey of achieving goals in aan agile work environment

A flexible work environment not only allows employees to optimize productivity but also encourages personal and professional development. Today, we’ll hear from two Home Credit representatives who have utilized agile working to set and achieve significant goals in both their careers and personal lives. They’ll share how they faced challenges, received support from colleagues and managers, and maintained motivation to achieve success beyond expectations.

Can you introduce yourselves and your roles at Home Credit?

💬Ms. Mai Tran: Hi, I’m Mai, Senior Commercial Financial Analyst in the Commercial Finance department. My job involves working with data, but it’s far from boring because I get to work with interesting and open colleagues. I act as a companion on projects from the idea phase to implementation and evaluation by assessing the financial impact of products and projects, comparing different proposals to select the best option, and providing advice to partners to adjust and improve plans. 

💬Mr. Nghia Le: I’m Nghia, Telesales Call Center Supervisor at Home Credit Vietnam. With over 9 years here, I not only manage the telesales team but also directly experience the work and help improve call quality and optimize the sales process for my team. Besides managing KPIs and revenue, I also motivate and support the team, especially in balancing workloads to maintain a positive spirit.

As the New Year approaches, how do you set personal and work goals, and how do you ensure they align with the team's and company’s overall goals? 

💬Ms. Mai Tran: Through direct work with partner teams, I gain insights into their challenges and business direction. This helps me set the goal of putting "Customer Centricity" at the forefront this year to support partners in achieving business success. By considering different perspectives, I initiate improvements that address not only the customer’s experience with our products but also how the business can grow. For example, with "Customer Centricity" in mind, our finance team conducted analyses to understand customer group effectiveness and expanded beyond individual product views to improve the overall customer experience from their first interaction with Home until they explore all products and services. This allowed me to create objectives focused on tighter collaboration with other departments, ensuring they align with our team and company’s overall goals. 

💬Mr. Nghia Le: Each year, I set personal and team goals to exceed our sales targets and work performance. However, I focus not only on achieving results but also on maintaining and improving quality throughout the year. To achieve this, I build a strong team where everyone can maximize their potential and responsibility. When the team works with responsibility and a positive attitude, I believe we can overcome any challenge.  To align personal goals with the company’s, I maintain flexibility in our approach. I proactively adjust plans and operations to fit the company’s changes and frequently communicate with other departments to stay updated, adjusting goals as needed to ensure alignment and efficiency.

Home Credit’s work environment is known for its flexibility. How do you apply agile working in achieving your goals, and how has it improved your performance?

💬Ms. Mai Tran: A flexible work environment helps me establish guiding principles for how I work, allowing me to address issues proactively and with flexibility. In Home Credit’s dynamic environment, seeing colleagues constantly progress and work hard motivates me to push forward as well. I prioritize communication and collaboration with partners, staying updated on their plans to be better prepared and support the process effectively. From the beginning of the year, my team listed planned initiatives to monitor regularly, ensuring timelines and quality. Despite careful planning, the business environment requires change, so I maintain an open mindset, listen to partner feedback, and respond quickly. The key is staying passionate and unafraid of challenges. With a professional attitude, I aim to build trust with partners and reinforce the credibility of our team, ensuring smooth future collaboration. 

💬Mr. Nghia Le: Flexibility has become a key factor in helping my team achieve sales targets more effectively every month. Instead of sticking to rigid methods, flexibility allows my team to adjust goals and work approaches based on specific situations. Setting KPIs for each team member and collaborating on creative solutions has empowered the team to take more initiative in their work. This flexibility increases creativity, strengthens teamwork, and helps improve telesales performance and revenue, enabling us to not only meet but exceed our targets.

When facing difficulties in achieving your goals, how did you receive support from your colleagues or direct manager, and how did this help you overcome challenges?

💬Ms. Mai Tran: During challenging times at work, I always remind myself to stay calm and focused, knowing that every issue has a solution. I feel more confident with the support of leadership and colleagues around me. My manager helps prioritize issues, assess their importance and urgency, and guides me on how to approach them effectively. I also have empathetic colleagues I can share thoughts with, helping me balance my emotions. This support has enabled me to not only overcome obstacles but also use flexibility in my work to achieve previous goals while setting new ones.

💬Mr. Nghia Le: For me, difficulties are unavoidable in any job, but I see them as opportunities for learning and growth. When challenges arise, I don’t just seek solutions but also learn from the experience to improve myself. Even when things don’t go smoothly, I maintain a positive and proactive attitude in seeking solutions. Support from my colleagues and direct manager plays a crucial role in helping me overcome challenges and lead the telesales team. I regularly exchange feedback and perspectives with others, which helps me approach issues from different angles and find reasonable solutions. Moreover, this support creates a united work environment where everyone is ready to help each other.
